Stan Miczek joining us on bass Sun May 28th @ The Markland Pub

Good news! Last time we played the Markland Pub in Etobicoke we had the pleasure of playing with Guenther Kapelle again, he's our go to guy on bass when Pat can't make it. We were able to get Stan Miczek to sub in on bass, Stan has played with Sass Jordan, Honeymoon Suite, Guess Who, Harem Scarem, The Drifters and many more. He and his awesome band GROOVESTONE tour the GTA, check them out and check us out Sun May 28th 4-7:30pm at the Markland pub in Etobicoke.

The Firefighter National Curling Championships are in Toronto this year!

That's right! Packed house at the National Curling Championships, we got to entertain at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. They had a silent auction to raise money for various charities, first class act all the way for giving back. The Blazers do a lot of charity work and it was great to see that they seized the opportunity to raise money. Thanks so much for the hospitality, they fed us with a great meal with drinks...we had such a great time!

PTSD awareness. 22 Push ups in 22 Days

DAY 22! Done, thanks to everyone for your support throughout this process. I really appreciate all the comments and encouragement. I was nominated by fellow Toronto Firefighter and bass player for The Blazers Patrick McPhail to do 22 push ups a day for 22 days to raise awareness for emergency service/military personnel & combat veterans. 22 vets a day commit suicide, this is a small gesture to raise awareness for this issue in the US. In Canada there are comparable numbers of men and women from all walks of life suffering from PTSD in both our military and first responders. Push ups alone won't solve the problem, but this challenge is designed to raise awareness for a very real problem.
The rules are simple:
Once nominated your 22 days start the next day.
Every day record and post yourself doing 22 push ups. Try your best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted (from your knees) push ups or that you have to stop and take a break there's no problem with that but try to get them all done in one video.
Every day you must nominate a different person. Try to choose people you think will want to do this and/or have the ability to do it.
This is a simple and fun way to get the word out about a matter that more people need to be aware about. These brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms and keep us safe, its sad that so many veterans from all walks of life feel that suicide is the only way out. Please donate at www.22pushups.ca
